BCSSA Summer Synchro Coaching Posting: Summer 2017

PWS is looking for coaches for our BC Summer Swimming Programming starting June 2017. This program is operated under the BCSSA rules.

The athlete to coach ratio for this program is 8:1

Program times are:

  • Part A – June 5-29, 2017 – 4 weeks 

Monday 6:00-8:00pm @ Watermania

Tuesday 6:00-8:00pm @ Watermania

Thursday 6:00-8:00pm @ Watermania

  • Part B – July 3-August, 2017 3 – 5 weeks

Monday 6:00-8:00pm @ Minoru Aquatic Centre

Wednesday 6:00-8:00pm @ Minoru Aquatic Centre

Thursday 6:00-8:00pm @ Watermania

  • Regional Competition – August 4-6, 2017 at Watermania

High Performance Coach Posting: 2017-2018 Season (August 2017-June 2018)

PWS is looking for a High Performance Coach with Level 3 or higher or the equivalent experience and education and the desire to obtain High Performance coaching certifications. We are looking for a coach who can commit to one of our teams for the entire 2017-2018 season.

PWS is based in Richmond and Metro Vancouver, swimming out of pools in Vancouver and Richmond, BC.  PWS is looking for a High Performance Coach for one of PWS’s National Stream teams and also to coach selected National Stream solos and duet routines.  This coach will have a great opportunity to work closely with and be mentored by PWS’s Head Coach in planning, goal setting, coaching, monitoring team and athlete development.

PWS’s Head Coach, Kara Kalin, brings 14 years of high level experience to the sport of Synchronized Swimming, both as an athlete and coach with the Calgary Aquabelles, and coaching for PWS since 2007.  Kara was the assistant coach for Canada’s 2011 and 2012 National 13-15 team and was an apprentice coach with the National Junior team in 2010.


· Ability to prepare and coach athletes for National Stream competitions.

· Demonstrated a desire to support and promote Synchro

· Demonstrated ability to coach figure, solo, duet, Team and Combo events.

· Demonstrated performance success at Provincial and National / International competitions.

· Demonstrated abilities to develop and enhance Team and Club unity.

· Demonstrated good organizational and interpersonal skills

· Demonstrated development of Provincial and National level athletes.

Contract Postings For PW Synchronized Swim club 2017-2018 Season

Provincial Stream Coaches 8-10 hours per week

PWS is a dynamic and rapidly growing club located in the beautiful city of Richmond and Vancouver, Bristish Columbia.  Our athletes are keen to excel, and are extremely committed to training.  Our club prides itself on the philosophy of excellence through developing the whole athlete, encouraging healthy living, and learning to value the process of hard work.

We are seeking Coaches for all levels from beginner to High Performance.  The selected candidates will be: positive, energetic, educated at the post secondary level or attending post secondary school, NCCP qualified, or seeking certification.  We are looking especially for those who have a passion for learning, are role models, have strong communication skills, and work well in a team environment.  Experience at a high level of competition and or Coaching is required for our high performance levels.  An understanding of long term athlete development and planning is an asset.

Beginner/CanSwim Program Coaches

This program is for children who are age 6+ who want to experience synchronized swimming for the first time. Our CAN Swim program teaches basic synchronized swimming skills, which includes a mini routine.  The classes are 90 minutes in duration where 30 minutes is for land training (flexibility and activation) and 60 minutes in the water.

Contract remuneration is negotiable depending on experience and credentials.
